Rovaniemi Marathon, Sunday, 2nd July 2017
Start: 12 pm., 14 pm.
- 10:30 am: Mini-marathon for children, Rovakatu.
- 12.00 pm: Marathon, Rovakatu.
- 12:15 pm: 10 km, Rovakatu.
- 14.00 pm: Half marathon, Rovakatu.
The route goes along the Kemijoki River in the city of Rovaniemi. The half marathon is one loop around the course, the marathon two.
Open on Saturday, 1 July, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm and Sunday, 2 July, from 8:00 am to 18:00 noon
Participant packets are distributed during opening hours. You can get your packet by showing your receipt of payment or a valid identification document. You can register for the event at the office by paying the entrance fee in cash. Registration for a full marathon is open until 11:00 noon on Sunday.
Valuables and other personal items
You may leave your valuables and personal items at the marathon office on Sunday between 8:00 am and 11.00 am. The office will be supervised at this time.
Dressing rooms, showers and saunas
Dressing rooms for men and women are located beside the marathon office in Santa Claus Hotel. The showers and saunas are on the 5th floor of the hotel, accessible using the elevator next to the marathon office. Hotel charges a payment for sauna. You may also take a sauna at the nearby city pool; admission is free for all participants upon presentation of their bib.
The route has water and fuel stations every 2.5–3 km offering water, Squeezy sports drink, pickles, raisins and bananas. There are three toilets along the course. Any personal sports drinks to be delivered to the water and fuel stations should be brought to the marathon office when picking up your participant packet or by 11:00 am on Sunday at the latest. After the race, every runner is welcome to enjoy a complimentary meal of reindeer soup.
Prizes and Medals
Children’s prizes will be awarded at 11:00 at Sampokeskus.
The prizes for the first three runners in the adult racing categories will be awarded at Lordi Square as follows:
- 10 km: 15:00 pm.
- Half marathon: 17:00 pm.
- Marathon: 18:00 pm.
- The three best runners in each category will receive prizes.
- All participants who finish the race will receive a marathon medal in the finish area.
- Prizes drawn by lot can be claimed in the event office in Hotel Santa Claus.
